For many years and sessions, a bi-partisan Congress has proposed significant

Election Integrity measures that ensure fair and honest elections. Many in Congress believe that these measures would have strengthened Election Integrity and avoided the disaster of the 2020 election and subsequent events.

Senator Mitch McConnell (Majority Leader) and Trump White House Counsel Don McGahn bear responsibility for the problem.

This is The Real Story of Election Integrity

III. U.S. Senate Members for Election Security (2018 - 2022) and Election Integrity Caucus - U.S. House Members (117th and 118th Congress)

Preface: Stymied Bipartisanship Stonewalling Against Crucial Election Security Solutions

List “A” below identifies fifty-five (55) members of the U.S. Senate who proposed at least four (4) election security legislations in the 115th, 116th, and 117th Congress (Part II). These members had bipartisan support in the House and Senate, with crucial election security infrastructural resolves that were (and still are) desperately needed for our nation’s local, county, and state electoral systems.

List “B” below identifies sixty-six (66) current and former members of the U.S. Election Integrity Caucus (Republican).

Constituent confidence in our electoral processes are at record lows, local government electoral infrastructural vulnerability and constituent advocacy efforts are at all time highs.

These shared challenges could have largely been resolved before the 2020 elections, had U.S. Congress not been stonewalled against implementing bipartisan policies that would have enabled states and counties to advance and stabilize local electoral infrastructure, and allowed federal agencies to facilitate more financial and personnel support accordingly.

In Washington, legislation is commonly proposed, re-worked, proposed again, in a cycle that can take years, if not decades. Before 2020, the push for election security was largely administrative and legislative. Since 2020, countless millions of American constituents consistently ring the same alarm bells for the past four (4) years. The post-2020 public hurdle is increasingly and aggressively against bipartisanship and against government, whereas the 2018 - 2022 internal hurdle was against the legislation itself.

Per U.S. Senators Roy Blunt, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Sen. Mark Warner and others, reportedly Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and former Trump White House Counsel Don McGahn did not allow the bipartisan U.S. Senate election security legislation to move forward out of Committee for debate or a vote on the Senate floor.

Senator McConnell’s floor argument against the federalization of elections unfortunately undermines the very fiscal policy of local elections, which is largely dependent on federal guidance, monetary and personnel support.

Appointed by President George W. Bush, Attorney Don McGahn previously served as Chairman of the Federal Elections Commission throughout the 2008 election, and as an FEC Commissioner from 2008 - 2013. Attorney McGahn also served as General Counsel to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). Attorney McGahn later served as the top lawyer for President Trumps 2016 campaign, and White House Counsel from January 20, 2017 to October 17, 2018, and then testified to U.S. House panel against President Trump on June 4, 2021.

It is unknown as to how many members of the U.S. House, or U.S. Congressional Election Integrity Caucus (Republican) were aware of the prior election security policy proposals from the U.S. Senate side in the past six (6) years.

However, when combining the sixty-six (66) current and former members of the Election Integrity Caucus with the fifty-five (55) current and former members of the U.S. Senate who co-sponsored of election security legislation year over year, with supplemental backing of strong constituency who maintain steadfast appetite for these exact election security solutions, Congress has ample opportunity to move forward again in this 118th Congress.

Notably, Speaker of the House, Michael Johnson previously participated in the U.S. Congressional Election Integrity Caucus (Republican).

Given the previously Democrat lead election security legislation speaks to immediate and unresolved America First conservative constituent concerns that have been voiced and acted on through extensive, vast volunteerism and local community effort in the past four (4) years; in the event that the legislation packages can be revisited, updated and revised, viable election security policy is highly likely to pass on wide bipartisan basis in the House and Senate.
